You’ll work alongside the best and the brightest engineering talent in the industry. The Promethean software development group has opportunities in a wide range of areas including development, design, search, platform, test, quality, big data, front end and back-end. As a core participant of your team, you’ll estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations and triage production issues. You need to be dynamic, collaborative and curious as we build new experiences, improve existing products and develop distributed systems powering the best-in-class interactive flat panels at a scale few companies can match.

As a WordPress Developer you will support the business in the implementation of key, strategic, digital initiatives that deliver maximum value for our digital properties. You will be a WordPress expert in constructing, implementing, and developing dynamic and engaging websites, supporting both a back-end and front-end environment.

* A day in your life as a WordPress Developer at Promethean may include:*

Working with the Digital Properties team to specify and implement new features and functionality to Promethean’s existing Digital Property eco-system.
Working with the internal Marketing team to design and specify new digital requirements, whether for external customers or channel partners.
Creating custom WordPress themes and/or plugins.
Establishing and guiding the team towards best practice in terms of WordPress application, site architecture, and responsive design.
Primary point of contact for all content edits and updates to the North America corporate website.

To be an amazing WordPress Developer at Promethean, you will have:

Extensive WordPress developer experience designing and building websites.
Deep experience of front-end technologies that include CSS, HTML, PHP, and Javascript.
Ability to interpret wireframed designs into actionable, WordPress results.
Experience working with responsive website designs, the ability to debug issues, and work cross-functionally with the Digital and Marketing teams.
A knowledge of SEO architecture.
Experience managing content updates

Required qualifications:

At least three years WordPress experience.

Tasks

Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.

Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.

Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.

Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.

Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel.

Determine system performance standards.

Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.

Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.

Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.

Train users to use new or modified equipment.

Specify power supply requirements and configuration.

Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation.
