ABB is currently seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for its Jefferson City, MO location. Responsibilities include supervising a group of production & maintenance employees engaged in various manufacturing & maintenance activities and related functions. This involves resolving production, technical, & logistical problems; this person will also assist to develop and implement measures to improve operations & customer relations

Your responsibilities

  • Manage staff by assigning and training employees, and track and enter hourly employees’ time into time keeping system
  • Ensure product quality, performance standards, and safety by establishing / enforcing organization standards
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records / data, answering questions, and responding to requests
  • Ensure safe & clean work environment by educating & directing personnel on the use of all equipment & resources, maintaining compliance with established policies & procedures
  • Maintain working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action, manage conflicts in an effective and professional manner
  • Use excellent people skills, coaching skills, management skills, and communication skills to accomplish daily deliverables
  • Provide clear direction to the work group by setting priorities (as needed and in a proactive manner), escalate issues (when needed), and builds support for issue resolution
  • Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; OR Associates degree and 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; OR High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • Broad experience working in industrial manufacturing environments, especially with operations leadership responsibilities
  • Experience working in unionized environments is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing implementation; Six Sigma training and certifications is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed to achieve cooperation with all levels of the organization
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, and a willingness to work any shift
