The company is excellent. Work and life balance always taken into consideration. Well structired, policies and procedures followed and accesible to everyone. On the other hand opportunities for advancement arr limited and benefits, like health insurance coverage could be better. Copays are high and at some instances no coverage at all. Overall the company is excellent

Pros and Cons
Work enviroment and activities for the employee
Career advancement os limit d

I loved my position at Abbott. The HR organization is best in class and the opportunities presented were available for those who pursued them. I was part of the divestiture of the pharmaceutical business which is why I left the organization. (Abel Davila)

Pros and Cons
Career growth, executive exposure, great employer resource groups
Limited opportunity to relocate abroad

I had the opportunity to work in a number of departments as a Temporary Employee and loved the ability to work with doctors, lawyers, transportation, and influencers within the company. Working with lawyers and doctors gave me insight of the inner workings of the research and development of new and innovative products. I was also able to work on the trial phase of new pharmaceuticals and having the foreign studies translated into English and entering the findings into the appropriate files. I also worked at entering and adjusting expense reports for returning employees that were traveling and returning from various countries and states. There are so many great areas that I was able to work in that it kept me interested in the job I was doing. In Research and Development, I was able to set up travel arrangements for outgoing Directors, Doctors and Managers. This involved gathering information about the area they were going to, weather reports, hotel accommodations, etc.

Pros and Cons
Friendly office and variety of duties.
Having Admin Supervisors take over rather than the actual bosses being responsible for our reviews.

Sunnyvale office was 95% East Asian. While there hiring was of East Asian. My opinion, the office only hires people from India, Iran region who came to U.S. for employment. I and another, who are not a part of the culture were forced out through targeted misinformation during training. We were cited as having problems with understanding the work requirements. In my opinion, this is not true. I know well my work ethic and competence. I've worked with competent managers prior to this assignment.

Pros and Cons
Very dysfunctional environment for work.
No possible advancement if you aren't of their culture.
