About Accompanist

What does an Accompanist do?

As Accompanists, we serve as the main music supervisor for dance and theatre mainstage productions and supervise the rehearsal, audition, and evaluate the pianist-conductor of musical theatre productions. We also provide appropriate piano accompaniments for the scheduled musical theatre courses and other musical theatre workshops while coordinating and creating class assignments for all dance accompanists. We act as the main outreach coordinator and music director for the Syncopation, including communicating with schools and the community, scheduling permits, and supervising the musical theatre BFA programโ€™s auditions.

Core tasks:

  • coordinate with the voice faculty to help musical seniors
  • develop, prepare and execute pieces when required
