What does an Account Manager do?

As account managers, we are part of the sales team of our organization. Our job is to ensure that our assigned client’s needs and requests are satisfied, resulting in a positive customer experience, and long-term business relationships. We act as a single point of contact between our organization and the client. We assist with making sales, handling issues, collecting and analyzing data, and more. We may supervise a team of account representatives.

Core tasks:

  • maintaining positive relationships with clients
  • handling client issues and needs, working with internal teams
  • generating new business and sales using network
  • creating reports on account status and transactions
  • setting and tracking account sales targets
  • mentoring and supervising account representatives
