Job Description

The Ecology Center is looking for a part time Accounting Assistant. This is a part-time variable hour position, anticipating 10-20 hours per week.

Assist Business Manager in overseeing Ecology Center financial activities including purchasing, p-card management, account reconciliation, and other budget-related matters. Process journal vouchers, budget transfers, reallocations and redistribute indirect costs. Assist with travel, purchasing, and p-card management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience or formal education in accounting
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work efficiently without immediate supervision
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Good organizational and time management skills
Good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with USU travel, purchasing, and p-card policies
Experience with Banner and USU forms

Tasks

Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.

Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
