A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • FP&A

    • Assist companywide initiatives to develop tracking of R&D spend by programs in collaboration with PMO (Program Management Office), Product Development, Strategy and Corporate Development team.
    • Assist the development of commercial operation productivity metrics
    • Assist pre planning of annual budget process
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • SOX / Internal Controls
    • Assist with requesting EY walkthrough support from process owners.
    • Document Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls based on EY walkthrough requests obtained from our internal testing, related to the Fixed Assets (FA) and Accounts Payable (AP) controls we deem key and medium/low risk based on our risk assessment. Begin testing of Entity Level Controls (ELC) controls.
    • Assist with semi-annual and quarterly control reminders to process owners
    • Administer the SEC close calendar for the group.
    • Assist with monthly Health Care Provider (HCP) Expense Report Testing for Territory Managers (TM’s) and Clinical Diabetes Specialists (CDS’s) and Other samples.
    • Assist with our internal Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) narrative updates.
    • Other administrative tasks within the Workiva SOX Solution.
    • Roll forward the Service Organization Controls (SOC) 1 report assessment files.

  • Conduct financial analyses related to investments in green construction or green retrofitting projects.
  • Forecast or analyze financial costs associated with climate change or other environmental factors, such as clean water supply and demand.
  • Identify potential financial investments that are environmentally sound, considering issues such as carbon emissions and biodiversity.
  • Determine the financial viability of alternative energy generation or fuel production systems, based on power source or feedstock quality, financing costs, potential revenue, and total project costs.
  • Evaluate financial viability and potential environmental benefits of cleantech innovations to secure capital investments from sources such as venture capital firms and government green fund grants.
  • Research and recommend environmentally-related financial products, such as energy futures, water rights, carbon credits, government environmental funds, and cleantech industry funds and company stocks.
