ACLD or Adults & Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities company was established in 1957 by a group of families known as the New York Association for brain-injured children in the Nassau Chapter. It is a not-to-profit and social service association. The corporate head office is located in Bethpage, Bay Shore, New York, United States. Lila Blum was the first Executive Director of ACLD. The company was formed to provide services for children and teens with Autism, learning and developmental disabilities through residential programs, summer pre-school programs, satellite programs, adult day treatment programs, and many more successful programs and services. The Nassau and Suffolk Chapters are merged into the ACLD.
