For many of our patients, being able to recover from a surgery or illness at home with friends and family is an important part of the healing process. That is why Adventist Health Home Care Services offers a skilled, in-home health care team committed to the safety, comfort and independence of our patients. The Home Care team works closely with physicians to provide exceptional care that is personalized for each patient; nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for scheduled or on-call visitations.
We're looking for someone to join our team as a Administrative Director (Home Health & Hospice) who:
Assumes responsibility and accountability for Home Health Operations. Strategizes on network design and development, provider contracting, including contract negotiations of all provider contracts with specific leadership in facility, physician, and ancillary contracts. Assists in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives supporting specific organizational goals. Provides leadership to directors, managers and patient care staff while holding them accountable for quality patient care and outcomes. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgement.
Essential Functions:
* Develops structures and processes with department leadership that reflect a shared governance model of patient care while integrating systems/responsibilities with other departments providing direct care and/or support to the Home Health department.
* Develops, directs, recommends, implements and evaluates hospital policies and procedures/standards of care related to the delivery of safe, quality, efficient and effective patient care.
* Facilitates communication to promote effective working relationships between all roles and positions in the department.
* Provides strategic direction and oversees accountability for quality, safety and patient satisfaction performance of the departments to achieve expected targets.
* Collaborates with the Education Department regarding annual education plan and competencies.
* Assists in assessment of ongoing educational needs of the patient care departments.
* Assumes responsibility for the development, analysis and accountability of departmental budgets.
* Plans/monitors/maintains, FTE, capital, and operational budgets.
* Reviews department systems, concerns, budgets, and goals with physicians, including cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
* Exercises independent judgment in recruiting, training, coaching, supervising and directing assigned staff.
* Conducts and supervises managers' yearly employee evaluations.
* Oversees quality assurance issues and programs.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in nursing, business, healthcare or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
* Master's Degree: Preferred
Work Experience:
* Ten years home health and hospice experience: Preferred
* Five years leadership experience: Preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
* Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT) or Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for State of California: Required
