What does an Administrative Supervisor do?

As Administrative Supervisors, we manage the administrative activities of an office. We schedule and coordinate projects and special assignments. It is our responsibility to direct the work of the office support staff. We ensure efficiency through the effective utilization of assigned resources. We evaluate office production, revise procedures, and devise alternative methods to improve workflow. We provide information related to short-range objectives, procedures, and practices. Assisting in budget preparation or other business process analysis is our job. We lead a group of professional and subordinate staff, integrating activities within the group.

Core tasks:

  • facilitate team meetings
  • oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the group
  • assign work, monitor and review process and accuracy of work
  • provide technical guidance on more complex issues
  • coordinate and monitor the work assignments
  • ensure adherence to ethical standards
