If you lack security experience you'll get your start at a company like Admiral. Totally entry level with no growth even if you obtain a Gun permit. They will pay you bottom market prices. This company cares more about getting contracts at lowest price. As a result they don't pay there employee's enough to live a humane lifestyle. The only way to earn a decent check was to live at work. 16 hour shifts become a way of life just to keep the bills paid and refrigerator full. I asked for a raise and was told there was no money in the contract. I was a Captain working a retirement home for $14 hr. Bill and Wayne told me there's no money. I asked to join the armed side of security and was told NO. I was blatantly told "right now they need me to run the retirement home". And if they didn't need me there they would consider transferring me to armed security. Also when your boss is literally in bed with the contract manager there's no chance for anymore money during rebid. #Facts
Pros and Cons
Get entry level security experience and your Guard card/ gun permit.
Low salary, extreme overtime, scandalous leadership that can care less about your future .
