About Admissions Coordinator

What does an Admissions Coordinator do?

As Admission Coordinators, we are responsible for providing appropriate post-admission orientation of application facets, such as paperwork. We ensure prompt response to patient needs. Reviewing and maintaining departmental reports is also a part of our duty. We instruct and communicate admission requirements to patients and their families. We provide initial interaction with referrals and potential patients over the phone and in-person. Working as Admission Coordinators, we are responsible for gathering and analyzing data regarding departmental success metrics. We assist counselors and other senior program personnel in crisis intervention. Finally, we maintain compliance with the organization's policies and practices and federal and state laws.

Core tasks:

  • providing updates on the patient's condition to referral sources and relatives
  • communicating the admission process with the patients and their families
  • informing the medical director about patients conditions
  • obtaining clinical trials and funding source information from the client during admission
