Aerodynamics Engineer

Aerodynamics engineers are aerospace engineers who test aircraft bodies and propulsion systems to ensure they meet aerodynamics specifications. By applying the principles of aerodynamics, we also provide guidance to optimize the aerodynamic performance of aerospace designs. We usually work as subject matter experts as part of a larger team of engineers. We are usually employed by companies in the sectors of automotive, aviation, aerospace, and defense.

Core tasks:

• generating, developing, and validating airflow management systems
• working with engineering, design, anf program management teams to execute efficient aerodynamic designs
• developing solutions to resolve engineering/styling/aerodynamic conflict
• preparing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations
• designing and conducting model scale and full scale wind tunnel tests, providing feedback
• conducting external flow field simulations
• documenting and presenting findings to cross-functional teams and management
• supporting prototype, pre-production, and production build events
