About After School Tutor

What does an After School Tutor do?

As After School Tutors, we are responsible for identifying learning difficulties, reviewing lesson content with students, explaining students how to solve problems, assigning work, checking student completed work, and reporting to teachers and parents. We also have to provide an attractive, well - kept classroom that encourages creativity. We ensure that all class bulletin boards are current and provide the parents with any overview of materials taught in the class.

Core tasks:

  • providing the support and guidance necessary to each child and their family to ensure that program elements sponsored by other organizations are introduced smoothly
  • accepting responsibility for maintenance/ necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playground
  • assisting and coordinate snacks and bathroom activities and helping in other capacities as determined by the Director
  • observing all rules and regulations of the Union County School District, and local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to health, safety and care of children
