Alabama Power Company Reviews and Ratings
Birmingham, AL - January 16, 2025
I was very fortunate to get my job at Alabama Power 20 years ago. The pay and benefits are exemplary. However, the culture at the headquarters in Birmingham has declined, especially in the last 10 years. Line workers and transmission personnel are solid, hard-working and reliable, but the company management - the suits - are yes men (and women), more interested in wielding political power and getting promotions than being good stewards for the state. When I was hired, this was not the case. They’ve lost a lot of good people, and they’re being replaced with cold, corporate robots, or clueless crony hires.
Pros and Cons
Great pay and benefits

Started as a laborer on the coal pile and worked my way all the way to an executive level. Lots of opportunities.
Pros and Cons
Recognition of employees; empowerment or employees; great pay and benefits.
None really. We were paid well and recognized for the job we did.
