ALAMO COLLEGES DISTRICT, like its namesake, has a positive impact on society. It has struggled to make higher education accessible and affordable for all from the founding as a community college district in 1945 and through decades of reform and development. Today, five institutions provide a diverse range of courses and 2-year degrees to fulfil this promise. It has some of the greatest teaching and learning facilities in the country thanks to a recent $450 million capital renovation project. For individuals pursuing advanced degrees, the credits transfer to four-year universities. Additionally, the workforce development programs assist individuals in establishing new jobs while also meeting the demands of employers.
