Allen Edmonds, founded in 1922 and headquartered in Wisconsin, is an American shoe manufacturing company operating 78 stores in the United States and Italy. Most of the company’s shares were purchased by an investment firm Johnson and Morrison in 2006 for $100 million. Later it was owned by an equity firm Brentwood Associates. Allen Edmonds offers services for recrafting shoes, rebuilding shoes, soles, and heels, and reapplying the finish. It is among a small minority of companies producing shoes domestically and the factory has replaced assembly lines with teams of craftsmen committed to designing and manufacturing quality shoes for customers.
