Originally known as the Adelphian Society, Alpha Delta Pi is an organization that is the first secret society for women in the world and forged the way for females in the fraternity system. Founded in May 1851, at Wesleyan Female College which was the first college in the globe chartered to grant degrees to women. The organization’s founder, Eugenia Tucker Fritzgerald was only 16 years old when she left her family behind to join Wesleyan College, and at such as young age when it was uncommon for women to go to college, she quickly recognized the importance of women coming together for the purpose of improvement as well as personal development. She along with her five pals founded the Adelphian Society. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the organization publishes job listings on its official website in categories of volunteer services, and more.
