The best thing I can say about Amalgamated Bank is the pay. As a Senior First Contact Representative (call center rep) for small business accounts I developed productive & supportive relationships with Account Executives throughout the bank and was promoted to the AVP Account Executive position. I was based in NYC but placed on a team based out of California that was acquired from a bank merge a year prior that needed a person very familiar with Amalgamated Business accounts/products. The biggest issue I had was working under a non-supportive manager who neglected their duty of making sure I was properly set up systems wise and had the proper access to perform particular duties required, that was never accomplished. I had to take it upon myself to acquire the proper access to do the job. My clients treated me better than my manager.

Pros and Cons
Amalgamated does tend to pay better than most other banks and banks ten times the size of them.
Insecure management, poor training, low support, few opportunities to advance.
