Fine place to work. There was a definite difference when they sold out to USAir. They did not like AA original employees and they made it well known.
Pros and Cons
A pro with USAir is they did not decriminate against age.
Flight benefits were not available most of the time inside United States.

American Airlines was a fair and fun company to work for. The company treated us very well. I miss working with my teamates. Together we processed twice monthly payroll together and always processed and completed on time. Shared information with each other and helped each other in assisting employees with payroll and benefits questions. I personally trained 3 processors, even though when I started working at American, there was a merger transition in progress and my trainer was assigned to training in another location to facilitate the merger with US Airways, but was always supportive and contacted me every day. Over all, very good Company that pays attention to the employees and thier jobs.
Pros and Cons
Friendly office, fun events such as decorating for Christmas, Group events .
Some of the coworkers were not very helpful

The worst job I have ever had, the 2 managers in charge of the station providing the services for AA here in the Dominican Republic are given an operation budged to under contract, the reason for them getting bonuses if they lower all costs and also compensate themselves for the revenue they force.
underpayment, bonuses that they say they pay the employees are kept for themselves, inhumane environment to work, unsafe, for employees and the safe operation overall.
All the thinkable and possible corrupt ways to conduct a business are present at this site, the reason for me quitting this position and (Company)
Pros and Cons
None, there is no positive what so ever
Nothing, transportation since the airport is out of the city

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love my job here at American. I love helping people and it fills my cup. That being said, the schedules you get in the beginning are those best for single people. The work/life balance I was experiencing just wasn’t working for me and my family. Working for American as a whole though is a huge pleasure and presents great possibilities to those who are fortunate to be welcomed on board.

I started in 2007, the last month of the year.
I didn’t know anything about aeronautics, but they gave me a chance while I was finishing my degree in communications.
While there, I not only had the opportunity to intern in Dallas at the corporate office, I met my future husband (Tulsa location) with whom I’ve been married for nearly 13 years now.
I learned copious areas in the business from landing gear, to the corporate side of communications and “pitched” to Sony, my ideas at the time, passenger listening pleasure through headphones.
I appreciated the flexibility of the company while I pursued my education, and their phenomenal support.
I did leave in 2009 on good terms and with more knowledge of the aeronautics world.
Pros and Cons
Benefits, traveling privileges.
Overnight hours, culture stigma.
