The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) was founded in 1933 by seven veterinary leaders. Through certification and other activities, AAHA has focused on supporting high-quality standards for the rapidly developing sector of small-animal private practice since its foundation. Many of the policies and practices that AAHA follows now were established in the 1960s, with the development of organization personnel and the normalizing of many of them. The first paid practice consultants were engaged. The AAHA became a more professionally run organization. In 1992, the organization purchased its own headquarters. Today, the organization employs more than 60 people and publishes a variety of materials, including Trends magazine and the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, as well as tools, client information, and more. Currently, company is hiring director.
