I worked with this company for over 14 years. Because of the short staffing and unrealistic work load, shift bid, seniority policy and structure the job did not have any work life balance. The software that micro managed you was disruptive with pop up notifications throughout they day which caused the work you were focusing on to take longer. An example of one situation- I worked until 5 pm, I scheduled a doctors appointment for 6 pm. At 456 pm a call rang through my phone, (micro managed, cannot log out of your phone until end of shift 5pm exactly, cannot put yourself in a holding pattern as it is tracked and you are reviewed on the amount of calls taken.) This call happened to be a problem call needing care and time. I instant messaged my team lead after working on the call for 1/2 hour and realizing I needed help to allow me to make my doctors appointment in time. The response I got "Oh well I guess you will just miss your appointment, you should have scheduled it later").
