About the Company
Established in 1982, by Dr. Bruce Irwin in Birmingham Alabama, American Family Care was then the first Urgent Care, as well as Family Care and Practice Care in the area. The idea of non-emergency Urgent Care came into Dr. Irwin’s mind when as a kid he noticed that the emergency room resources were being used up by people not facing a life-threatening or immediate attention situation. Currently, AFC is proud to have 200 urgent care facilities spread across 26 states after 35 successful years in the business. With a target to have 500 more clinics in the next 5 years, American Family Care is currently treating an average of three million patients annually. The facilities provided by American Family Care urgent care units are physicians, digital X-rays, Electronic record-keeping, technologically advanced diagnostic procedures, and a qualified team of nurses, doctors, and staff. There are various jobs available for technicians, radiologists, record-keeping assistants, and others at AFC.
