On November 12, 1919, Farm Bureau representatives from 34 states met in Chicago, Illinois, to form the American Farm Bureau Federation. Farmers and ranchers gained a voice and a seat at the table with the great economic interests of the day, including industry, manufacturing, railroads, and labor. In the idea that a more flourishing agriculture contributes to the well-being of all Americans, the American Farm Bureau is the national advocate for farm and ranch families in good times and bad.
