Dispatch and company supervisors will work you regardless if you are sick, injured, etc. There is an extreme lack of communication between callers scheduling transports to AMR, and the facility/nurses who actually have the patients. 90% of the time, nurses and facility staff are completely caught off guard by the arrival of AMR to transport their patients: then who made the call? Several AMR units a day are dispatched to transport patients on the incorrect day, or to transport patients who have already been transported. Dispatch will give a call to a unit regardless of their distance from the pickup call and their scheduled end of shift, putting them past their 12 hour shift. Dispatch will give BLS calls to vent-equipped ALS units over an hour away when much closer BLS units are minutes away from being cleared. If you thrive under constant disregard for your time and feelings of frustration, this company is for you.

Pros and Cons
If your dream is to be an EMT/medic shuttling patients between facilities, AMR is that company.
Overworked employees, underpaid, lack of care from management

Employee retention is everything. When you have the same 4 stooges running the show you’ll always have the same result. Get rid of them and you’ll see a huge difference. As well as the scheduler…who thinks she runs the show

Pros and Cons
Friendships
Low pay, employee retention and morale
