The ANA Enterprise refers to the combination of three American nursing organizations such as the American Nurses Organization; the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the American Nurses Foundation. The three organizations work in tandem to promote the vision of the Enterprise, fulfill its mission, and put into practice the Enterprise values. Headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland, the ANA was founded in 1896 and represents the nursing profession with members from all 50 states totaling almost 4 million. The organization strives to improve the overall quality of healthcare across the USA. The main points through which ANA envisions to advance the nursing profession include advocating for high standards of nursing, promotion of competitive and ethical working atmosphere, improving the well being of nurses, and raising awareness regarding health and other issues affecting the nursing profession.
