I worked for 2 different districts in ASD. The first was fine, nothing spectacular but ok. The principal was supportive but some of the district policies prevented me from teaching kids as best as I could.
The second school was worse and the district has only gotten worse since. I was only permitted to teach scripted curriculum and EXACTLY as the lesson was written. I was also told I needed to work through a serious concussion to finish paperwork. The district provided me no support through my recovery and my contract was non renewed because my work suffered during my recovery.

The pay is decent and it’s in a urban location
No autonomy, no flexibility, a lot of micromanaging
