APL, established in 1848, is one of the world's major ocean carriers. APL's international shipping network allows it to provide services in all facets of global cargo container transportation. APL provides transportation for all types of shipments, including dry, climate-controlled, hazardous, and large items, as well as unique cargo. APL also provides shipping services throughout the world's key trade channels, including Latin America, Trans-Pacific, and Asia-Pacific. The Group, headquartered in Marseille, employs approximately 110,000 people worldwide through a chain of 755 offices and 750 warehouses. APL encourages learning, thus the firm uses the e-learning technology, the CMA CGM Academy, to provide ongoing education online, at any time. Over 400 e-learning modules are provided to empower personnel so that they may remain proficient in their professions and fulfill the aim of APL.
