What does an Application Security Engineer do?

As Application Security Engineers, we work closely with development teams, perform code reviews, penetration tests, and architectural reviews on existing codes and new features. We also develop, implement and communicate vulnerability mitigation strategies to development teams.

Core tasks:

  • handling externally reported vulnerabilities as a member of the corporate information security program
  • driving static and dynamic application testing program
  • developing strategies, evaluating solutions, designing and implementing tools, processes, and controls to make sure that security and privacy are designed perfectly
  • advising development teams on SDLC best practices
