Applied Materials Company Reviews and Ratings
Testing Technician
Austin, TX - May 30, 2024
Worked as a test technician for a couple years. Lot of infighting between coworkers. Sometimes it would get so bad that people would storm off in the middle of the shift. Animals like birds and bugs got into cleanroom due to door failures and carelessness. Get training. Get experience. Get out. If you don't have personal connections with anyone in upper management, you're out the moment you inconvenience someone who does. Otherwise Decent enough work. Great for learning the fundamentals of semiconductor work.
Pros and Cons
Good compensation. Exceptional Overtime.
Toxic work environment. Felt like Middle School

Large company. Nothing bad to say, but if they cut a department and your just a contractor...... You may get let go.
Pros and Cons
Great onsite cafeteria. Friendly and professional. Good with overtime if hourly.
Your just a number in vast employees. Easily eliminated for work reduction.

Good pay with good benefits but work-home life balance is poor. You are expected to put the company first above all else. If you are highly flexible in you scheduling and do not mind changing shifts at any given time, then this would be a good fit.
Pros and Cons
Salary, plenty of overtime, CWW, great benefits
Overtime is mandatory, schedule is subject to change anytime

Management plays favorites. If your not the right age or color, you will be put on the worst jobs. Don’t get paid per your skill level. A good starting point for unskilled labor or if you need a job. But no future.
Pros and Cons
If you are a hard worker you can work a lot of hours.
You are treated like a piece of meat.
