Applied Science Laboratories is a University of Defense Department-Associated Research Center (UARC). It is the university's oldest research unit and is a part of the portfolio of the Vice President for Research. The Department aims to provide the United States with national security and global advancement by funded research in acoustics, electromagnetics, and information technology. Seventy-five years ago, ARL was created. The ARL: UT's goal is to encourage cross-disciplinary exploration where scientific priorities are interfaced with relevant public service and educational contributions. The researchers and employees share diverse talents, personalities, viewpoints, and interactions that support our creativity agenda and make ARL: UT a place to work.
