I was accused of hitting a second party vehicle while driving into a plaza to use the restroom, after being interviewed by insurance company that reviewed evidence along with pictures submitted; it was proven that in fact I never hit the vehicle. General manager tried to talk me into resigning after she mistakenly in error submitted all the forms for the incident without completion by me because of being sent home early. After two weeks of working I was wrongfully terminated with out explanation. No warnings, no write ups, no documented coaching from management that I completed work tasks at a unstatisfactory level! False statement of why I was discharged to unemployment!
Pros and Cons
You can make alot of money with overtime but you'll have no life
Dispatch is ridiculous with adding over time, always short staff, drivers always quit

I worked for the company for eight years. The last couple of years were off and on because I started a family, choosing to stay home with my children. I was hired back on twice with the company because I had more babies. They were so flexible, allowing me to come into the office per diem so that I could earn an income. I became friends with everyone there and they were great people.

Started at a specific time - never finished in 8 hours (always overtime/assignment must be completed). Pay was super awesome (because of the long hours), my fellow workers always so cool and ‘like family’. Did not like being on-call (on-call days felt like the day never ended) very ‘long-in-the-teeth’! High turn over

The mangers do not care about the employees as they say they do. They screw you out of your vacation and person time. Give occurrences and does not tell you about them til its too late. You do not get commissions for sales and they screw you out of bonuses.

I put in many years working for Apria, being on call was tough, you never knew when you might get called out. It might be at 3am or right at 5pm after you work a long day and to end up driving 2 hours in one direction, then get another call in the opposite direction (yes this happened to me many times)
When you are on call, you can’t plan to do anything. If you do make plans, like fishing or a picnic or family get together, you have a good chance to get called away. I missed more than one Christmas, family reunion, birthday party because you’d get called out to work.
They can suck the life out of you
They dangle carrots in front of you, but never can you reach them.
Upper management was non supportive, and expected the world from you

Your working with sick and dying patients, they don’t compensate you for what is expected of you

Treated like crap. The manager that hired me was amazing but when he left the woman that took his place was very cold hearted. My mother in law passed away on a Saturday and I was told I had to be back at work on Tuesday because she was quote "she was JUST your mother in law"

The company was very unstable. They fired many people and closed many offices in several states. NY employees were doing all the work for the other states. Noone was able to go home when their shift was over. Management force you to work overtime and threaten to fire you if you cannot stay. They don't give any raise to existing employees but paid a higher salary to new employees. Most people became angry and quit. Things probably change now - good luck to anyone that wants to work there.
