Aramark was a great job. I was the cashier, and there were times were I wanted more help but they did get more help and even helped me by taking some duties off of my plate. I had some great bosses at my location that helped out when they were able, and always expressed their thanks for the job I did. I felt wanted and needed and it was a good job. Also, because the location was based in an office building you mostly saw the same customers every day and no weekends. The only real con was the wage but for a cashier it wasn't bad

Pros and Cons
Friendly atmosphere, reliable customer base, good benefits
I would have liked to make more

I worked on colleges and universities and loved every minute of the job. I worked directly with student, advisors and university Presidents. Directing student labor was amazing in the sense the students were so very dedicated to their jobs. Would love an opportunity to get back in to this tour of environment.

The attitude of the work staff and students.

It’s a fun work environment @ the NHL Arena for professional hockey games and big name concerts . But this is Part-time/ seasonal, and definitely not sustainable as a primary job. This is good as a supplement to a regular full or part-time job, or if you’re just looking for extra income. Be aware that staffing schedule & everything else (which bars you’re posted at) is all based on seniority, and because of that, it is very competitive, even cut-throat at times with the bartenders. If u can get thru the first few years and work your way up, it is definitely a great part-time job to have once u work your way up the ladder.

Pros and Cons
Get to hear cool concerts, short shifts, no late nights, great tips.
Very competitive, no room for advancement, must work 80% of all events to keep your seniority

It might just be my hospital where I worked but the management staff had all worked together for so long that cliques formed and favoritism ran rampant.

I've worked mutiple accounts with Aramark. I started at the Wells Fargo Center then went into higher education, st Joe's university and west chester university. Covid shutdown everything in higher ed and Aramark would not guarantee me a position so left the company.

Gererally positive environment. There are some bad GMs that are micromanagement types.
Many EEs so standing out is hard. Not a lot individual recognition for good work.

So I got hired in as a lead. That isn't a specific title and I don't lead anything. I get paid minimum wage and I am ServeSafe certified. I thought I could at least make more than minimum wage and have a leadership position. We only get to eat on Saturdays for free there and anywhere else we have to get a meal ticket to eat someplace else.

They provide free meal to other restaurants

It was an honor to be able to work for Aramark especially Kenny Walker my immediate supervisor in receiving. Being. He gave me the chance to prove myself as a forklift operator between between Kenny and Jeff and Terry and Daniel and several the other workers, I managed to learn quite a bit in a fast pace production facility , and prove myself. If it wasn't for them, I never would have been able to prove that I would be able to be able to be an operator of a forklift to myself or to others because I had not been given a chance by the previous company that I worked for.

If you learn how to deal with management who try to convince you that they care, have your back and will work with you if you have some type of situation that is beyond your control; have a senior manager that would rather check the bottom line rather than interact with his people; try not to get your nose out of joint when you realize positions are filled based on how well you smooze your boss; if you can be sympathetic to needy co-workers who are so busy trying to advance themselves with the management; and you can continue to maintain your integrity in the face of the above and sometimes a little more, then you're good. The place I worked, was so worth the few people that I described above. Good friends and some outstanding and sincere coworkers, made coming to work all worth it!

Aramark is a contract company. Heavy on corporate leadership. Big emphasis on diversity and promoting wellness and integrity. The company leaves little flexibity for purchasing and relies on on corporate contracts. Accounting is a major part of maintaining individual contracts and financial reporting is often a grind as the company strives for better financial reporting.
