Arizona Public Service Company (APS) is the supreme electric utility which was established in 1885 with its headquarters based in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It is the foremost subordinate of publicly traded S&P 500-member Pinnacle West Capital corporation, which in turn had been initially named AZP Group, when Arizona Public Service reorganized as that holding company in 1985. APS serves more than one million customers in 11 countries throughout most of the state, but mainly concentrated in northern and central Arizona, with 4,000 MW of generating capacity. The company is one of the two major suppliers of electricity to the Phoenix metropolitan area and is regulated by the Arizona Corporation Commission. As the state’s supreme and longest-serving energy provider, 6,300 dedicated employees of the company power its vision of creating a sustainable energy future for Arizona and has set a bold goal to offer entirely clean and carbon-free electricity to customers by 2050.
