About Armed Security Officer

What does an Armed Security Officer do?

As Armed Security Officers, we respond to emergencies. We enforce federal law. It is our duty to conduct mobile patrols, inspections, and searches. We conduct traffic enforcement and traffic investigations. We initiate detention and transporting persons. Performing protective service work such as guarding is a part of our job. We follow all company personnel and safety policies. We provide access control and traffic control. It is our job to conduct walking and motorized armed security functions. We are responsible for the cleanliness of the uniform and equipment assigned. We follow applicable standard operating procedures pertaining to the security of weapons. Conducting personnel, building, & facility checks and inspections is a part of our daily routine.

Core tasks:

  • provide assistance to employees and visitors
  • perform security patrols of designated areas
  • watch for irregular conditions that may create safety hazards
  • warn violators of rule infractions
  • monitor entrances and exits
