Armstrong Atlantic State University has gone through several names changes ever since its establishment in 1935 (known then as Armstrong Junior College) and is now referred to as Georgia Southern University - Armstrong Campus. The public university is based in Savannah, Georgia, home to 26,054 students, offering about 141 doctorate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs, operating from three campuses; in Hinesville, Statesboro and Savannah. The college’s mission is to prepare minds to lead, think, serve, and teach, based on a learner-focused culture. Armstrong values discovery, academic excellence, collaboration, integrity, sustainability, inclusion, openness, and innovation. The majors are offered through the university’s College of Education, College of Liberal Arts, College of Science and Technology, College of Health Professions, and Graduate Studies Programs. Some majors include; Humanities, Criminal Justice, Business, History, Economics, Computer Science & Information Technology, Engineering, Biochemistry, Mathematics, and several others. At the end of the 2017 fiscal year, the college recorded an endowment of $13.2 million.
