The Guard’s mission is to serve the country, responding to battle fires or helping communities deal with floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, snowstorms or further emergency situations. If you join the Guard, you will have the opportunity to choose from a bunch of benefits. Soldiers have access to the G.I. Bill or state-level tuition assistance to pay for college, bonuses, VA home loans to buy a house, and insurance to keep their family safe. The Guard also offers retirement options if you have 20 years service while serving in the Guard by age 60.
