About Assistant Director OF Residence Life

What does an Assistant Director OF Residence Life do?

As Assistant Directors of Residence Life, we track and maintain statistics related to student health and well being and personality nourishment. Therefore, we take care of all desk staff hiring, scheduling, and supervision within the department and manage payroll processes. We also assist in managing and administering departmental technological resources, including platforms used for visitor management, room condition reports, staff reporting portals, access control, and video security. Additionally, we oversee departmental marketing and promotions, including web content management, establishing and managing a social media presence, and coordinating promotional materials. We provide help in formulation and implementation of policies and procedures regarding the total operation of the Office of Residence Life and assist in overall operations and supervision.

Core tasks:

  • strategically coordinate all functions of housing registration, selection, and assignment processes
  • manage the housing database for all residential students, including residence halls, theme housing, and fraternity and sorority housing
  • generate administrative reports and evaluate assessment data
  • maintain and audit all relevant housing files including housing agreements and occupancy reports
