What does an Assistant District Attorney do?

As Assistant District Attorneys, we are responsible for handling all assigned cases from the initial phases to and through the final phases, including appeal. We are also responsible for providing legal counsel and executing imperatives or actions in all criminal prosecutions for the district attorney's office.

Core tasks:

  • prosecuting misdemeanor criminal activity and traffic violations
  • conducting pre-trial interviews with defendants, witnesses, and arresting officers
  • screening misdemeanor violations
  • signing and accepting bills of information
  • creating and drafting petitions and motions
