General Summary: The Associate, Accounting Governance will be primarily responsible for supporting the department governance program. This includes but is not limited to, performing general policies and procedures reviews, account reconciliation reviews and preliminary technical account research.
Duties and Responsibilities: Supports the department planning activities and internal control program. Maintains and documents policies and procedures including working with counterparts within the department to complete annual P&P updates.
Researches assigned technical accounting topics, completes analysis and forms information into potential solutions.
Perform all other duties assigned.
Knowledge and Skills: - General accounting background with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Strong technical ability to understand accounting literature
- Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical, written and verbal communications skills
- Good personal computer skills, i.e. Excel, Word, Access, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must be able to establish a high level of credibility with all levels of internal operations and external clients
- Self-starter and highly motivated (must be confident in own strength and ability to achieve goals)
- High energy and ability to work in a fast pace business environment
- Creative, innovative and adaptive to change
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- 2+ years of relevant and progressive work experience in the accounting field.
Physical Requirements and Working Condition: Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
