28 years with the company and was let go due to consolidation and locations. Over 130 people let go because they were not located in the locations designated by att. Very disappointed and disheartened by the company direction in the last 10 years.

Pros and Cons
Excellent benefits and 401k
Constant downsizing and limited locations for work

I met some great people along the way in my 22-year career at AT&T. However, career progression was next to impossible, whether it was the unspoken reasons (white male) or the fact that senior managers, sometimes CEO, had to approve any promotions. Benefits in 2000 were fantastic and slowly degraded over my 2+ decades of employment. Vacation policy was changed a few years back. They took away vacation from those over 20 years and gave those new employees an extra week. It's pretty sweet for new hires, but horrible for showing loyalty to your employees that have been loyal to you!

Pros and Cons
Coworkers, a feeling of security
Poor pay raises, lack of upward movement when deserved, always focusing on stock price

Typical telecom company. Standard expectations of hitting quota with high levels of activity they are extremely micro managed. In my experience, ATT's Business organization of course is all about the sale. There were several questionable business practices that were unethical or borderline and leadership was very aware if not encouraged or ignored them all together. Their management team consists of new college graduates that participate in their Intern to hire program and even though they were eager and motivated to be successful to lead, they lacked the experience of managing/leading as well as overall maturity. Overall, ATT Business at the time paid very good salaries to attract top talent, but the culture, leadership and poor business models resulted in those exiting the company on their own. My advice to you is if you like to gamble and you have an appetite for trying new and interesting things, go ahead and see how you like it. Good luck!

Pros and Cons
Salary was good and health benefits and additional perks were nice
Toxic culture, extreme favoritism, poor and inconsistent leadership starting at the top down

In the beginning, it was good. The people and managers were awesome, and the benefits were good. I was getting promoted, top-notch training, and great work experience. In my first four years, I learned something new daily. Then people started getting laid off, and the work environment deteriorated. People got laid off so much that it felt like being in a war and losing people at any given time. When I started to become numb to the unannounced layoffs, it became bad. After that, it became ugly because my director was not good at his job and the people allowed him to abuse them because many of them were loyal to him because they felt he was responsible for getting them their jobs. I realized we had hit rock bottom when the Director forced everyone in the department to come to work in an alternate work location, during Hurricane Sandy, after the governor declared a state of emergency, who does THAT?

Pros and Cons
Good work-life balance, pay is decent, good company overall.
Sterile culture, No Job security, No prestigious anymore,

I started as call center agent, then transitioned to HR. I was given so many opportunities to acquire new skills, accept new job responsibilities, and meet so many wonderful peers. The downside is they are very tight with pay and bonuses. Also, the company is continually reducing headcount and replacing work groups with external vendors. Downsizing is a fact of life at AT&T.

Pros and Cons
Lots of opportunities to grow and expand your skill sets
Senior leadership does not care about employees.

Working with AT&T is a good opportunity to learn in advance to pursue your career in other aspects get as much as education as you can The company offers a lot of education. This is a steppingstone to better careers because AT&T to its employees is not that great so if you look for something with longevity, as I said before, get as much education as you can and move on

It’s great when you first start but after you make six months the whole work vibe changes, they will fire you when they have a surplus of employee, and will find any little thing you did in the past to say that’s why you were fired. They nitpick, harass you, force you to sell things and say things even if it’s not your department.

At&t was my overall ideal work space. The environment was amazing and the growth was amazing ,I can't imagine anything I'd rather do, then to have a team who has my back. To show one another how to kick ass in the field of working side by side. It was a lot of fun with so many good benefits, major Communication points. My job at at&t was to take business to the customer going from door to door making sure people chose at&t for there internet phone and tv Services. Choosing the right areas got easier, giving needs became something I did daily and when I thought it to be even the slightest necessary. (Checking internet broadband, materials for new customers, installations etc)

The employees were like family too me weather I was a technician, engineering or management. However, I'd been away for a number of years & went back as a technician for 18 months when I retired for the second time. My first 30 years meant so much more to me as my early days working for old Ma Bell was good to us all. I started as an entry-level Frameman and from the constant encouragement in furthering my education I was able to be promoted a number of times achieving at one point being both an Area Managers and "Regional RBOC (Regional Bell Operating Companies) Chairperson for new technologies for all Bell operating companies after our divestiture.

Att has great pay and benefits. Sometimes can be a fun environment but most people are there for a check only . Harsh punishment even if the situation was not foreseen. Unexcused sick time but it is paid. Doesn’t take doctors excuses so in order to be covered you have to use FMLA which requires 1250 hours worked and if not, it’s write up time. Harsh attendance policy, min vacation, seniority based, low early shifts ,no option to WFH due to unforeseen circumstances.

Pros and Cons
Great pay

For the past 4 years at AT&T, the director of the project office has entrusted me with various responsibilities to meet the challenges of digital transformation. We underwent training, moved from theory to implementation, and I was allowed to test the power of my soft skills to drive change and convince different leaders that the effort and frustration were worth it.

I worked for 15 years at AT&T. The compensation was good with the exception of the health care which barely counts as having health insurance. Apart from that, I have nothing nice to say. Leadership is detached and completely removed from the workforce. My boss didn't even meet with me once every two weeks. When he did, my career, work opportunities, anything to do with my well being was never discussed. Beyond this, AT&T offers very little by way of a career path. You are expected to learn constantly but without any help from management. If pay is all that matters, this is a good place to work. If you want more, look elsewhere.

The year is 2023, it's not the company to go work for. Leadership does not care about you.and they will find ways to get rid of you. Don't join the company. Don't let the benefits, Unions, Employees Resource Groups, all fool you. Just walk away. It's the company as a whole, not just one location I'm looking at. You'll regret it as people who leave are so much happier. Just trust me. You'll thank me later.

The point that the option was taking away after our lives changed when Covid hit and the only option left available was to come into the office with no consideration of child care, employees that may have relocated causing an increase route time, gas prices increasing and etc put a lot of people in the “ONLY” option available which was to resign.

I worked there for over 10 years. I have never seen a worse bunch of managers in my entire life! Inept, incompetent leadership and worse front-line managers who don't care about individual growth opportunities or growth potential. You are pigeon-holed with no hope of promotions and advancement. Horrible merit increases even though you may receive a stellar APR. Too much Nepotism, favoritism, etc. The company required training is absolutely useless to your role. The culture has gone so "woke" it is toxic at all levels. Unless you are a minority female, LGBTQ+, or disabled, or any combination thereof, forget about getting a promotion as all promotions are now based on race, LGBTQ+, etc. I cannot in good faith recommend anyone apply to this toxic dumpster fire of a company as it is over $130 billion in debt and sinking fast. No hope for promotions- not even lateral positions are available. The very few that are go to the management "pets". The is a career-ender company!

Pros and Cons
WFH and remote work available. Not sure how long as company promoting return to office.

Pay and Benefits are probably higher than any competitor around, and time off is better than competitors, however the way the Managers treat the employees, and the way the Company treats the customers are lacking significantly.

I quit ( after receiving Tenure) because of the horrendous sexual harassment I experienced. Don't take this job unless you can handle the top sales team touching and talking to you whenever and however they choose. Great pay, had to quit because my mental health couldn't take it anymore and HR did nothing.

Pros and Cons
Pay and Beneifit
Sexual Harassment is normal
