Att has great pay and benefits. Sometimes can be a fun environment but most people are there for a check only . Harsh punishment even if the situation was not foreseen. Unexcused sick time but it is paid. Doesn’t take doctors excuses so in order to be covered you have to use FMLA which requires 1250 hours worked and if not, it’s write up time. Harsh attendance policy, min vacation, seniority based, low early shifts ,no option to WFH due to unforeseen circumstances.

Pros and Cons
Great pay
Harsh attendance policy, low early shifts ,no option to WFH due to unforeseen circumstances.

I loved the freedom to create art work, caring for my clients and make very good money. It was unfortunate what happened after the merger I made my pension and retired but it was a challenging experience.

Very widget oriented, nothing like Pacific Bell. Dreaded the moment they took over. Lost my retirement on a technicality what a terrible company.

Pros and Cons
Salary is decent
Widget counting, petty.

Things were much better when we were baby bells, although a lot of egoism, the money was limitless. Southwestern Bell the buyer was considered the lowest growth and the poorest run operation of all the bells and it showed.

For the past 4 years at AT&T, the director of the project office has entrusted me with various responsibilities to meet the challenges of digital transformation. We underwent training, moved from theory to implementation, and I was allowed to test the power of my soft skills to drive change and convince different leaders that the effort and frustration were worth it.

Pros and Cons
Professional training, employment benefits, and community integration programs.
Inadequate bathrooms, limited lunch seating.

I can't say this for sure , but once the Southwestern Bell started cutting employee out of pension they went after everyone on a pension even the higher ups. I have a close friend who was over most of a state in Engineering and many were cut out of there pensions as well.

Customer services was often buried after new billing systems were rolled out and many were over billed. In order to close my books on time I often took care of billing problems and delinquents myself.

I worked for 15 years at AT&T. The compensation was good with the exception of the health care which barely counts as having health insurance. Apart from that, I have nothing nice to say. Leadership is detached and completely removed from the workforce. My boss didn't even meet with me once every two weeks. When he did, my career, work opportunities, anything to do with my well being was never discussed. Beyond this, AT&T offers very little by way of a career path. You are expected to learn constantly but without any help from management. If pay is all that matters, this is a good place to work. If you want more, look elsewhere.

Pros and Cons
Good Compensation
No chance to advance, terrible work culture, no support

The year is 2023, it's not the company to go work for. Leadership does not care about you.and they will find ways to get rid of you. Don't join the company. Don't let the benefits, Unions, Employees Resource Groups, all fool you. Just walk away. It's the company as a whole, not just one location I'm looking at. You'll regret it as people who leave are so much happier. Just trust me. You'll thank me later.

Pros and Cons
The Benefits are the biggest pros, really great, I do commend them overall.
Morale has reached a low point company wide. Don't join the company.

I enjoyed the option of working from home, but I did not feel like the support was there fully. I also had tech issues.

Pros and Cons
Work from home..good hours
Very little support..and tech issues

The point that the option was taking away after our lives changed when Covid hit and the only option left available was to come into the office with no consideration of child care, employees that may have relocated causing an increase route time, gas prices increasing and etc put a lot of people in the “ONLY” option available which was to resign.

At AT&T I was given the opportunity to create the first MPLS Network in The World from scratch with twelve other techs and two manger, which now is over 100 techs and creates 2.8 billion in revenue. It was great working with my fellow techs, but when it can to some of my managers over my 21years there, let’s be nice the need more technical skills to know who they we’re working with and who.

Pros and Cons
Great people and technology
Management saw as widgets

When AT&T bought out BellSouth, they let go of everyone with tenure so they could hire for less. They also got rid of anyone close to retirement so they would not have to pay benefits.

I worked there for over 10 years. I have never seen a worse bunch of managers in my entire life! Inept, incompetent leadership and worse front-line managers who don't care about individual growth opportunities or growth potential. You are pigeon-holed with no hope of promotions and advancement. Horrible merit increases even though you may receive a stellar APR. Too much Nepotism, favoritism, etc. The company required training is absolutely useless to your role. The culture has gone so "woke" it is toxic at all levels. Unless you are a minority female, LGBTQ+, or disabled, or any combination thereof, forget about getting a promotion as all promotions are now based on race, LGBTQ+, etc. I cannot in good faith recommend anyone apply to this toxic dumpster fire of a company as it is over $130 billion in debt and sinking fast. No hope for promotions- not even lateral positions are available. The very few that are go to the management "pets". The is a career-ender company!

Pros and Cons
WFH and remote work available. Not sure how long as company promoting return to office.

I quit ( after receiving Tenure) because of the horrendous sexual harassment I experienced. Don't take this job unless you can handle the top sales team touching and talking to you whenever and however they choose. Great pay, had to quit because my mental health couldn't take it anymore and HR did nothing.
