About Attending Physician

What does an Attending Physician do?

We - the attending physicians are in charge of every aspect of patient care. We have to teach and train the internee. We are ethically and legally responsible for the provision of medical facilities to the patients. As attending physicians, we work as a team with the internees, residents, and senior staff to ensure the patient in the best state of health. Some of us also perform educational activities such as going on medical rounds and conducting wards with the residents. A group of attending physicians devote themselves to the basic science and clinical research.

Core tasks:

  • taking care of the patient in every possible way
  • responsible for communication between patient and doctor
  • teaching, guiding, and training internees
  • directing and managing patient care
