Primary Purpose
The Manufacturing Engineer position is a great opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment and making an impact on the production floor. This position will focus on modernizing production layouts and processes utilizing LEAN principles. This position will have cross organizational exposure and be an integral team member. If you enjoy 'making an impact' and utilizing your analytical skills to solve problems, this may be the position for you.

Primary Responsibilities:
Apply LEAN techniques and utilize knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to further optimize production methodology.
Carry out process improvement, problem resolution, project management, and employee training.
Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
Develop standard work and manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and production capabilities.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of building, production layouts, and equipment.
Routing generation and modification to support process improvements and new products.
Coordinate, trouble shoot, and assist in maintenance repairs for building and manufacturing equipment as needed.

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
5+ years manufacturing or industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing or assembly operations
3+ years Lean manufacturing experience with a proven track record of success.
2-year technical degree required (4-year engineering degree preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs such as Excel and Word required.
Proficiency in Visio preferred.
Proficiency in Visual Factory (work instruction program) preferred or demonstrated ability to write work instructions.
Communicating effectively with management, teams, engineers, and the shop floor
Excelling in problem solving, innovation, team participation, and self-motivation.
Managing process improvement activities on multiple and concurrent projects, demonstrating a sense of urgency
Working with teams to achieve Quality, Cost and Timing targets
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified preferred
Knowledge and experience interfacing with ERP systems -- Microsoft Dynamics or similar system preferred
