About Audiologist

What does an Audiologist do?

As audiologists, we treat hearing and balance diseases. We also diagnose the hearing and balance issues of patients. We use the tools for outlining hearing loss. As audiologists, we are responsible for creating the treatment plan for the patients. Our duties also include diagnosing the real issue behind hearing issues. Addressing and correcting the hearing issues are also part of our job duties. We counsel the patients about hearing issues. We prescribe the medicines and hearing aids to the patients. We teach patients how to communicate and teach lip-reading and sign language. Some of us also monitor the patients for checking the problems and progress.

Core tasks:

  • selecting the correct tests for patients
  • maintaining the patient records
  • conducting the screening programs for hearing loss
