As avionics technicians, we are responsible for the installation and testing of avionics equipment as well as aircraft electrical systems. We are charged with ascertaining that all avionics equipment is working effectively without interference from other electronic devices, before the aircraft takes off. We also remove, fix and reinstall faulty avionics equipment before the plane is cleared to take off. We are tasked with assembling and installation of all aircraft electrical components. Performing complex and valuable soldering on navigation, communication and missile control components is also our responsibility as avionics technicians. We are expected to offer correct diagnosis of complex avionics problems by performing technical tests on equipment and analyzing flight data. We similarly maintain records for all repair work for each aircraft.
