Axon was established in 1991 by brothers Rick and Tom Smith after two of Rick's high school friends was murdered during a road rage incident in Scottsdale. The company kicks off with a burning desire to provide individuals with non-lethal technologies for self-protection. The company also aims to support law enforcement agencies, with body cameras and evidence sites technology, research and development, artificial intelligence, and coaching. Axon started as a garage-small company and has grown with the years spreading across the globe. The company partners with over 16,000 law enforcement agencies in more than 100 countries in the world. Axon’s mission sole mission for 26 years has been to make the world a safer place and protect life. The company is committed to ensuring transparency and supporting justice. Axon also seeks to use technological means to get rid of racism and limit the use of force in the justice system.
