It was a great location with free underground parking. The work was interesting resolving tax issues for their clients. The folks in the call center were very helpful and training was excellent. The manager was probably one of the best I've ever worked with.

I worked with Bank of America 13 years I worked in the Foreclosure department and the reconveyance department. I really like Bank of America. They had advancement for us but they didn't let everybody know but you can take classes and to improve your education and stuff. So when I had to leave they were moving to another state and I came up to Sacramento California.
Pros and Cons
Good pay, medical benefits off on the weekends
No parking, located downtown, LA

My duties were pretty much the same as they were at Wells, however, I worked for Bank of America on an assignment basis through another company, and worked until their 'pipeline' of refinance loans was cleared out. It was a temporary assignment, and that was understood from the beginning.
I received files for closing, reviewed all title work for proper names, legal descriptions, signatures, etc. I prepared lender figures for the title companies, received and approved HUD's, sent the loan documents, received faxes of pertinent docs for wire approval, sent funding wires, received final loan packages, reviewed all documents, prepared the files for warehousing.
Pros and Cons
Had known a number of people from other work environments. It was fun to renew relationships.
Poor follow-up protocol for loans that had problems.

Bank of America promotes employee support and inclusion groups, but my tenure saw direct leadership put down hours spent to these support groups as “negatively promoting extra time on your hands” to direct reports and peers.
I was promoted based on my work, efforts, and experience. Being nominated to support employee groups at a national convention was looked at negatively. I was told my requirements for work would not be “passed off” just because I was going to a convention .
Pros and Cons
No free lunches, no path for learning, growing
Bad leaders, managers, direct hierarchy’s.

I worked at Bank of America for almost 18 years. I had a manager that saved my life. I was very sick most of the last months I was there. I still went to work no matter what. One day I had came to work and my manager at the time told me that I was not working today and that I needed to seek medical help and that I was not looking good. I did leave that day and made a appointment to see my Dr. I found out that I had breast cancer and that I needed to have treatments of chemo and radiation. It was a long 33 weeks and I was very sick and lost a lot of my memories. I had what they called chemo brain and was not able to remember things. After being out of work for a year I returned to work, but was not able to remember much of the systems. I tried so hard. One day my new supervisor called me Into his office and told me that I was lucky to have been out a year and that it was only cancer. Showed no compassion at all. I left that day after my shift and never returned.
Pros and Cons
Friendly co-workers.
There is no empathy or consideration of your feelings.
