About BAR Manager

What does a BAR Manager do?

As BAR managers, we are responsible to operate the hotel's bar service and ensure that guests are treated promptly and courteously, in line with Standard Operating Procedures, and in conformity with all hygiene and safety regulations. We ensure that all guests who come, contact, or use the hotel's services have their needs addressed, and that the hotel's quality is regularly met and upheld. We encourage and guide the teams to accomplish this aim, and we partner with the rest of the hotel team to create a good picture of the hotel at all times.

Core tasks:

  • sustain overall responsibility for beverage service in the hotel, including the cellar bar, watergate lounge, and function bar, as well as food service throughout the cellar door and watergate bars
  • ensure the cash processes, such as the planning and calculation of liquor bills in all departments, and the cashing up of tills, are observed and closely supervised
  • recruiting and educating employees to have excellent customer support
  • take ownership of stock management, including purchasing, approval, stock level maintenance, and stock rotation, as well as the return of any sub-standard goods
