About Behavioral Health Worker

What does a Behavioral Health Worker do?

As behavioral health workers, we focus on providing treatment to those individuals who are suffering from behavioral health issues. Though we deal with individuals regardless of their age, we especially help children develop necessary skills so they can survive in their social circle. Apart from the children, we also refer to the children's parents and teachers so we can come up with a treatment plan that works best for the children. Additionally, we also participate in training regarding how to deal with children and we train individuals who are new in this field. Some of us also assist parents so they can teach their children how to behave in social settings.

Core tasks:

  • interacting with parents and teachers in various social settings
  • collaborating with health care professionals to propose the best treatment
  • monitoring activities as suggested by health care professionals

The fact that only 2% of Behavioral Health Workers are in the 51-60 age group concerns me. Is there a reason for this? Are older workers being pushed out? 😑
